Flores also understands the importance of protecting South Padre Island’s senior residents. He supports investments in mobility, safe neighborhoods, emergency preparedness, and expanded health care options on the Island, including partnerships for clinics, urgent care, telehealth access, and faster emergency response.
He will ensure transparency in budgeting so that those living on fixed incomes are not overburdened. He believes seniors deserve to feel safe, respected, and included in shaping the Island’s future, and to leave their legacy to future generations.

Personal Roots and Commitment to SPI

Flores’s connection to South Padre Island began in 1998, when his parents moved the family from San Diego, CA, to Texas and first brought them to the Island, where he celebrated his 11th birthday. The family later settled in McAllen. In 2017, they purchased vacation property on the Island. During the pandemic, he and his late wife, Liza Marie, sheltered in place on South Padre Island, and he came to treasure everyday island life. They celebrated her last birthday on the Island. After her passing, already owning and managing property and doing business here, he chose to make South Padre Island his home.
